Introduction

HY-UTM-S is primarily used to measure the dynamic modulus and phase angle of asphalt mixtures. The dynamic modulus is a performance-related property that can be used for mixture evaluation and characterizing the stiffness of asphalt mixtures, while the phase angle is an important indicator for characterizing the viscoelasticity of materials, serving the mechanistic-empirical pavement design.

Controller Module

  • The controller module comprises the data acquisition system and control software, serving as the brain of the entire system. Its stable data acquisition, fully compliant data algorithms, and user-friendly human-machine interface form the core of the system’s control center.
  • 4-axis / 13-channel control system, capable of simultaneously controlling 4 actuators and acquiring data from 13 sensors.
  • 16-bit AD conversion resolution combined with 8× oversampling technology ensures high precision and stable data acquisition.
  • All test results are automatically calculated — no user intervention required.
  • Fixtures are equipped with transponder (RFID) chips for automatic fixture identification, preventing test failures caused by mismatches between software and fixtures.
  • Supports multiple control modes, including stress control, strain control, and load holding, with automatic switching capability, suitable for both dynamic and static tests.
  • Maximum dynamic control frequency up to 25 Hz, supporting user-defined waveforms such as sine wave, square wave, and triangular wave.

Software Interface

  • Automatic frequency switching:The frequency is automatically switched during testing according to a preset frequency sequence.
  • Strain closed-loop control:Based on feedback from actual measured strain, the loading pressure amplitude is automatically adjusted to ensure that the specimen strain remains stable within the set target range.
  • Automatic result calculation:Upon completion of the test, the software automatically calculates and outputs key performance parameters, including dynamic modulus, phase angle, and load standard deviation.
