The addition of fibers to asphalt mixtures can improve the uniformity and stability of the mixture, while enhancing pavement durability. Therefore, accurate evaluation of fiber quality is essential.
This instrument is mainly used for the sieve analysis of fibers used in asphalt mixtures. It adopts a negative-pressure air jet sieving method to determine fiber quality and fully complies with the requirements of the “Air Jet Sieve Analysis Test Method for Fibers” specified in JT/T 533-2020 Fibers for Pavement.
Under negative pressure, air passes through the filtration system and is discharged through a rotating nozzle to disperse and lift the fiber material during the sieving process. The lifted particles collide with the cover plate and become further dispersed, while the negative pressure draws the material toward the standard sieve.
Particles larger than the sieve aperture are retained on the sieve, while particles smaller than the sieve aperture pass through the sieve and are discharged through the designated airflow channel, completing the sieve analysis process.
The air jet generated by the nozzle also helps to clear the sieve openings during operation, ensuring a more efficient sieving process and improving the accuracy and repeatability of test results.
