Due to the high heat absorption of asphalt materials, the internal temperature of asphalt pavement can reach as high as 70℃ under summer high temperatures. Aggregates subjected to prolonged high temperatures will undergo thermal aging, leading to a decrease in aggregate strength, the formation of micro-cracks, and even breakage, directly affecting the performance of the asphalt pavement, especially its long-term performance.
The HTHY-0366 coarse aggregate thermal aging tester uses boiling to accelerate the thermal aging of aggregates, thus simulating the long-term aging of aggregates in the laboratory. It primarily evaluates the thermal aging resistance of coarse basalt aggregates during service by measuring the changes in mass loss, micro-Differential abrasion value, and Los Angeles abrasion value before and after boiling. It can also be used to evaluate the thermal aging resistance of basalt parent rock.
